Gatherings that skip the small talk

Purposeful play for curious people.

Most networking events and gatherings ask people to mingle awkwardly. I hand them something and ask them to make it, and a room of people building, drawing, or coloring side by side will connect in a much more meaningful way. You leave with something you made, new friends, and a reason to come back.

Past gatherings have included In a Pickle? (pickle ball and career mentoring for students and MBAs), An Evening of Odyssey Planning, Tarot for Creativity, and Dallas’ Biggest Vision Board Night.

A small evening for people who love Columbus.

I fell for Columbus, Indiana from a thousand miles away, through a Criterion movie by the same name, and then I spent a year drawing it after I visited.

This is a small evening for the people who live here, make things here, or can’t stop talking about this place. We’ll color landmarks you know by heart, and I’d love to hear the stories behind them from you.

It’s a short welcome, a table, some markers, and good company. Come after the Déjà Vu show, or come straight from your day.

I’ll have copies of Color Columbus with me along with a bundle pack that includes 5 Tombow dual-tip markers that scream fall in Columbus. You may pre-order your book and/or bundle below.

It’s my love letter to the beautiful city.

An evening for people who fall in love with places through their buildings

Date: Thursday, November 19, 2026
Time: 6:00-8:00 pm
Location: Four Bullets Brewery, 640 N Interurban St, Richardson, TX 75081

I saw a movie called Columbus and had to go to this extraordinary mid-century design mecca. I spent an afternoon walking past a Saarinen church, the Miller House, and sipping milkshakes from a soda fountain from 1900. I came home needing to draw it.

So I’m gathering people who love good design and places with a soul. We’ll sit at shared tables with a beverage, a page of a hand-drawn landmark, and a few markers. Our hands stay busy, and we’ll have a chance to mingle with fellow art and design nerds.

Come alone, or bring someone who’d love it.

You can pre-order a coloring book and/or bundle that includes 5 Tombow dual-tip markers. I’ll have signed copies of COLOR: Columbus and limited bundles if you want one to take home. No purchase necessary to attend.
